I started reading newsletters again lately, and I truly enjoyed the format that
put together, so I decided to shamelessly copy him (after asking him obv). The format he uses is “3 quotes, 2 short-form tweets, 1 long-form read and 1 piece of advice from me. Consume 2 minutes of information to help you advance your knowledge in different fields.”, is super solid… But look, I’m not as gigabrain as him, so I’ll provide an Aliexpress version of his newsletter with the following format: 1 quote, 1 tweet/storm, and 1 article/video. This format can evolve in the future should it be needed.
1 quote
I’ll kick off with one of my favorite quotes from the book “Subtle Art of Not Giving a Fuck” which summarizes how I approach things:
"Growth is an endlessly iterative process. When we learn something, we don't go from wrong to right, we go from wrong to slightly less wrong. We are always in the process of approaching truth and petition without actually ever reaching it"
PS: I used to note down all the interesting tidbits from books, or quotes I found on the internet/videos/podcasts in a One Note file - finally going to use them, eh?
1 tweet/storm
Thread about educational pieces on web3 gaming from an excellent account you should all follow.
1 article/video
An excellent and insightful piece where Sakaguchi and Igarashi - two game dev legends - discuss the history of Japanese video games, their rise to popularity, decline in the mid-2000s, and eventual revival in recent years. They attribute the revival to a focus on quality over quantity, technological advancements, and an increased appreciation for Japanese culture in the West.
