In this thread, Derek Lau, formerly with Guild Guardians and Immutable, delves into the good old subject: "The Benefits of Blockchain in Games." He dissects his thought process and analysis into two distinct sections: Challenges and Opportunities.
I appreciate Lau's approach and his insightful analysis. From my perspective, I do recognize the potential value of blockchain (disclaimer: I have a vested interest in its success, naturally). However, I prefer to adopt a cautiously bullish stance rather than blindly embracing all the hype. At present, the lack of game innovation, the perception, and the limited added value are insufficient to fully justify the associated costs and risks.

Hasan Minhaj has become one of my favorite comedians in recent years - by the way, I highly recommend watching his show "Patriot Act" on Netflix!
In this insightful 30-minute video, he conducts an interview with former President Barack Obama. Throughout their conversation, they touch upon various topics, even depression about current events:
President Obama confirms that he genuinely consumes all the media on his annual lists, including only those things he has personally experienced.
He openly admits to experiencing feelings of depression and anxiety, but he strives to maintain optimism by keeping things in perspective.
Obama offers valuable advice on focusing on incremental change rather than succumbing to nihilism.
They mention how discussing policy achievements and their positive impacts on people's lives can inspire voters without resorting to fear tactics.
They both emphasize the importance of authenticity, as it elicits positive responses from audiences.
Through a surprising analogy, Obama compares the presidency to parenting
Overall, it's an excellent video showcasing an unusually candid side of Obama. Minhaj even pushes him to discuss honesty and personal emotions. It's a must-watch!
