Easy to consume content: 1 quote, 1 tweet/storm and 1 article/video.
In this edition, our focus is twofold: first, we take a look at Tiktok’s forray into longer form content. Secondly, I am sharing an excellent summary of Arthur Hayes’ latest post regarding the US & China geopolitical & economical (renewed?) relationship

“Wait, is that a white hair? I hope that's not a bad sign.” Jaina Proudmoore.
(Has absolutely nothing to do with my current state, not at all).

TikTok is known for catering to our monke brains with short-form content, but now it seems to be shifting towards longer-form content. Journalist Kaya Yurieff shares some data and insights on this topic, explaining how TikTok is trying to become more like YouTube. Meanwhile, YouTube (and other American companies) relentlessly shove Shorts down our throat at every possible opportunity... :)

Per 0xjaypeg's comment, Arthur Hayes (founder of BitMex, one of the first centralized exchanges to allow for perpetual trading at 100x leverage -aka pure degeneracy, and an exceptional shitposter) frequently shares his thoughts on the global economy and other topics, which he understands far better than I do. I would be lying if I said I understood all the intricacies of his posts, but Jay does an excellent job of dumbing it down them for us, the plebs.
What likely prompted the writing of this piece was the recent visit of Xi Jinping to the US, which sparked much speculation. Even from my uneducated perspective, I could see why the US and China would want to end this ongoing semi-Cold War. However, the cynic in me couldn't help but smile when reading this:
The article is split in 5 chapters:
China/America aligned
State of Chinese economy (spoiler: it’s nothing looking good, brev)
Weak dollar
Time of a change
How do these $ flow into our beloved crypto
Each part details Arthur's thought process, supported by data or links to back up his claims, in addition to his own opinions. Of course, there is likely some bias – as with any of us – since Arthur is pro-Bitcoin/Cryptocurrency, but also lived in the US and moved to HK.
