Lately, there has been a wave of influential figures, investors, and pretty much everyone really, giving their opinions on the current investment trend in crypto known as “Low Float - High FDV.” This means there is a low circulating amount of tokens but a very high fully diluted value, allowing investors to profit significantly.
I find it quite interesting, or even telling, that everyone criticizes this trend after they've made a lot of money and it has been exploited to death. (For transparency’s sake: I also benefited from it with different investments).
Regardless, one of the most respected figures in crypto (and a personal favourite),
, wrote a full article about these new launches, which you can find here. He goes down the memory lane and talk about ICOs, 2021 mania, and how we reached the currently boiling point, alongside the other issues. The difference between him and others is that he didn’t do most of these investments, and he doesn’t shy away from trashing his own bags publicly. Important to keep in mind two things: he is already wealthy af (deserved) and is building Echo.xyz that would serve to level the investment playing field.
Tyrogue did an excellent summary of it on Twitter:

Gamer Network’s publications are GamesIndustry.biz, Eurogamer (including six local language editions), Rock Paper Shotgun, VG247 and Dicebreaker. The business also holds shares in Outside Xbox, Digital Foundry and Hookshot (which operates Nintendolife, PushSquare, PureXbox and Time Extension).
IGN Entertainment is the division of Ziff Davis that includes IGN, MapGenie, HowLongToBeat, and Humble Bundle. It has acquired the websites from PAX and New York Comic-Con organiser ReedPop, which initially bought the Gamer Network business in 2018.
Games media have been in dire straits for quite some time, and this consolidation is the result of that.
